ワンダーウーマン Wonder Woman

映画界に新たなアイコンが生まれた。

女性アクションスターとして、またはスーパーヒーローとしてだけでなく、ポップカルチャー全体のアイコンだ。

作品自体も、「スーパーマン」一作目に匹敵するくらいの力強い第1級のエンターテイメントになっている。女性アクションスター主演のハリウッド映画として、作品の規模も人気の幅広さも興行成績も史上最高だ。

女性監督による初めてのスーパーヒーロー映画でもある。これまでのところ、本作のパティ・ジェンキンス（４５）と、女性監督として初めてアカデミー賞を受賞したキャスリン・ビグロー（６５）が、ハリウッドの主要な女性監督のように見える（ソフィア・コッポラはインディペンデント寄りなので）。本作が大成功したことで、若手の女性監督にハリウッドの大作への道が開けることを期待する。

ワンダーウーマンを演じるガル・ガドットがとにかく素晴らしい。この役を演じるために生まれてきたようだ。他のスーパーヒーローのようにいい大人がコスプレさせられてる感が全くなく、自然にゴージャス。

アクションはキレキレ、ドラマも見応えがある。ワンダーウーマンは、愛と喪失を経験することによって成長し、真のスーパーパワーを獲得する。最初の戦闘場面での彼女の表情は少女らしさの残る繊細さで、あれ？っと思ったが、後になって、そのような演出意図であることが分かった。心からの悲しみと怒りを経験することで、真のスーパーパワーが開花し、その時の彼女は力強く神々しい。

フェミニズムのシンボルとなってきたワンダーウーマンだが、小難しいフェミニズム論議は置いといて、とにかく楽しめる爽快な作品だ。映画終了後、女性観客たちは、ワンダーウーマンの力強さと、いかに彼女たちを勇気付けてくれるかについて、ただ快哉を叫んでいた。

まともにハロウィーンの仮装をしたことのない私だが、今年はワンダーウーマンの仮装をしようかな。１億人くらいがワンダーウーマンのコスプレをすると思うが、それもまた良し。

This film marks the birth of a new film icon - not just a female action star or a superhero icon, but an icon.

The whole movie is as good and strong as the first Superman movie.

This is also the first female-starring action Hollywood film of this scale, accessibility, popularity and sales.

It was also directed by a female director (the first time for a superhero movie). So far, there are only 2 female major directors in Hollywood: this film’s director, Patty Jenkins (age 45), and Kathryn Bigelow (age 65) (Sofia Coppola leans more towards independent films). I hope that big hit of this movie’s scale will open the way to Hollywood blockbusters for younger female directors.

Gal Gadot is superb. She was born for Wonder Woman. Unlike other superhero movies, her costume doesn’t look silly, just naturally gorgeous.

Action sequences are awesome, but so are the dramatic one: she grew up as she experienced love and loss, then acquired her real super power because of the love and loss. In her very first fighting sequence, her face looked a little girlish and vulnerable, but I realized later, it was intentional: she got her full power through sadness and anger from loss of her loved one.

You can forget all this feminist or whatever talk. Girls and women in the bathroom after the movie just cheered how she is powerful and encouraging.

I‘ve never gotten a proper halloween costume before, but I may dress as Wonder Woman this year!
