「ボーイフッド」「猿の惑星: 新世紀」

この夏の話題作２作。

「ボーイフッド」は同じキャストで12年間撮影し、主人公の少年の5歳から18歳までを描く。目の前で成長していく少年の変化を見るのは喜びであり、リチャード・リンクレイター監督の野心的な冒険は大成功だ。7年ごとに49年にわたって撮られているドキュメンタリー「Upシリーズ」の登場人物ほどには、私の心の中で育たなかったが。「Slacker」「Dazed and Confused」から「Before」シリーズに至るまでの、リンクレイター監督の集大成ともなっている。
Richard Linklater's ambitious movie 'Boyhood' filmed the same cast over 12 consecutive years.The center is a boy named Mason from age 5 to 18. He grew up in front of us (as his parents got older) and it was such a delight to see. The experiment was a big success. However, he didn't grow up in me as much as 'Up' documentary series characters did. The series has filmed every 7 year over 49 years, so it was unavoidable. It was also a great culmination of Linklater's work from 'Slacker' and 'Dazed and Confused' to 'Before' series.

'Dawn of the Planet of the Apes'は夏の大作映画としてはベストの水準。感情と理屈、メッセージとアクションが無理なく溶け合っている。人間を演じる俳優たちが、もっと味があった方が良かったけど、最初から最後までスリリングで楽しめた。
'Dawn of the Planet of the Apes' is the best summer blockbuster movie can be. Emotion, logic, message and action are naturally put together. Although human actors could've been more interesting (=missed James Franco), it was very fun and thrilling to watch.
